Roland Balogh

- born in Budapest in 1984, he began playing guitar at the age of 6, initially guided by his father and later by a private teacher. In 2001 he attended the music school Kőbánya; afterwards he took lessons from the famous Hungarian jazz guitarist, Gyula Babos. In 2007 he took his high level diploma of jazz guitar in this school. In 2009 he won the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition, whose jury was chaired by Lee Ritenour. In 2010 he received the scholarship “Dezső Ablakos Lakatos”, the same year he was awarded with the Junior Prize Prima, one of the most prestigious awards in Hungary.
