Sebastian Böhlen

Sebastian Böhlen has an active performing career throughout Europe, North America and Australia including concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Berlin Philharmonic Hall and Montreux Jazz Festival. He worked with Al Jarreau, Kurt Elling, Randy Brecker, David Liebman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joe Sanders and Ziv Ravitz among others. Böhlen can be heard on countless radio broadcasts as a bandleader, sideman and composer and has recorded over twenty albums. In addition to that Sebastian received numerous awards in various competitions including Socar Montreux Jazz Electric Guitar Competition, Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis, Best Composition Award at the Tremplin Jazz D’Avignon, ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award and Praetorius Musikpreis Niedersachsen. Furthermore he got scholarships from the German Exchange Service, Manhattan School of Music, Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and the Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony. He studied Jazz Guitar at Manhattan School of Music and Mannheim University of Music and Composition at the Cologne University of Music.
