Piotr Scholz

Piotr Scholz (born 1991) is a guitarist, composer and conductor. He is also the winner of many prominent awards, such as the Grand Prix of Lotos Jazz Festival, 17th Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, Grand Prix of Jazz Fruit at Mladi Ladi Jazz Festival in Prague, Grand Prix of 18th National Contest of Jazz and Blues Bands, Grand Prix Jazz nad Odrą Festival 2018, as well as the 3rd place of 2nd International Jazz Composition Contest during Silesian Jazz Festival. Has been honoured with many prestigious awards, such as The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Award, The Ministry of Science and Higher Education Grant Programme, Artistic Grant Programme from City of Poznań and Young Poland Grant Programme.

He has been performing repeatedly on the same stage with the brightest stars of the jazz music scene, such as Jean Luc-Ponty, William Lecomte, Caroline Davis, Leszek Możdżer.

He has been collaborating with Włodek Pawlik, Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, Big Stan Band and Grit Ensemble.

His original projects include Weezdob Collective, Piotr Scholz Sextet and PJPOrchestra.

Being still a young musician, Piotr Scholz has already many artistic achievements and is engaged in recording, performing and composing activities. He is a dynamic and creative guitarist. He also conducts ensembles and big bands.
